Make your donations go even further

Claim your donation tax rebate and increase your impact.

For many people, fear and stigma are major barriers to getting tested for HIV.

At the Burnett Foundation Aotearoa (formerly New Zealand AIDS Foundation), the comfort and safety of our community is at the heart of everything we do.

You and your support allow us to design our programmes to specifically address barriers to HIV testing. Now is your chance to increase the impact of your donations!

Did you know that your donations to Burnett Foundation Aotearoa are eligible for a 33.3% rebate from the IRD?

Yet for every $2 donated in New Zealand, only $1 is being claimed back. If you find the process confusing and time-consuming, you’re not alone!

That’s why Burnett Foundation Aotearoa has partnered with Supergenerous to make it easy to claim back your rebate and put your share to good use – whether that means regifting it to charity or keeping it for yourself.

What is Supergenerous?

Supergenerous, licensed by IRD, automates the donation tax rebate process and sends your rebates to you or as new donations to the organisations you support - making every donation go a little further.

How does Supergenerous work?

  • You sign up.
  • We’ll work away in the background to get all your donation data from any organisation you donated to. You don’t have to provide any receipts.
  • We’ll claim your rebate with the IRD, keep an eye on the process for you and let you know when the rebate is paid out. The IRD has rules around rebates, so some people may not get a rebate.
  • We receive your rebate and charge a service fee of 10% (plus GST).
  • Depending on where you chose to send your rebate, we will make a new donation on your behalf or send the money to you.
  • That’s it - ready to claim next year!
