All applicants are expected to have knowledge and experience of the communities most affected by HIV in New Zealand, specifically the gay and bisexual men’s communities, including Takatāpui Tane, Asian MSM and HIV positive MSM, and New Zealand-based African communities. People living with HIV who are willing to have their status known publicly are encouraged to apply, although disclosure is not essential.

The NZAF Trust Board has seven Trustees, four of whom are elected by the membership of NZAF, and three who are appointed by the Board. This position is for an appointed member. The Board meets approximately eight times each year, although some work is necessary from time to time between meetings.
