Yehualashet (Yehuala) Aboye
Community Engagement Coordinator African
I am passionate about empowering people, advocating for equity and social justice, and towards creating a successful, inclusive society.
In my previous role, I worked for a project called the Wise Collective at the Auckland Regional Migrant Service (ARMS) as a Project Worker for two and half years. While with the Wise Collective, I successfully ran a series of community-based training education sessions. I hold a degree in Health Sciences from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and a Diploma in Office Management from The Commercial College of Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). I’m not entirely new to HIV prevention as I worked for an HIV/AIDS prevention programme in Ethiopia. I look forward to effectively engaging more of our Auckland-based African communities, in a culturally appropriate manner as we carry out our HIV/AIIDS health promotion work.
