Programme Manager African Communities
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
— Dr Martin Luther King Jnr
I am originally from Zimbabwe and I am responsible for managing Love Cover Protect, NZAF's HIV Prevention Programme for all African Communities in New Zealand. I have enjoyed working with all New Zealand-based African communities since I joined NZAF in 2006. I sincerely appreciate the unwavering support given by the African communities, without which it would be impossible to achieve the desired outcomes.
I enjoy my job because it’s all to do with people and humanity. Apart from health promotion (HIV/ AIDS), I have a keen interest in human rights and social justice issues. I believe in seeing all people been treated fairly and equally; as Dr Martin Luther King Jnr said, “We are all dust from one earth and leaves of the same tree.”
Professionally I hold, among others, the following qualifications:
- Master of Philosophy (MPhil) - Auckland University of Technology (AUT)
- Master in Business Administration (MBA) - Massey University
- Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management
