Ian Kaihe-Wetting

I’ve recently returned to Kaitaia after 32 years living in Auckland.  My professional background is in classroom teaching, several years as a Project Coordinator for the Māori Youth Project (NZAF) in the early nineties and most recently for Counties Manukau District Health Board – Māori Health Development as a Service Manager at Middlemore Hospital.  Currently my husband of almost nine years and partner of over 24 years still works in Auckland, availing me the privilege of being selective over what I choose to do now.  We are at that empty nest stage of life after all our children we’ve raised are now independent.

Returning to NZAF almost 26 years after initially working there is an immense privilege, alongside believing in the principles NZAF operates from and the goals it has set, I wish to give back to an organisation and community that has helped shape who I’ve become.
