David Ting

I was born and raised in New Zealand and subsequently lived in Asia for over 6 years, teaching English language in Vietnam, China, and Thailand.  Over half of my time in Asia was spent working with ethnic minority refugees and illegal migrants on the Thai-Burmese border.

I came back to New Zealand to complete a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Auckland, double-majoring in Sociology and Asian Studies, and I am currently undertaking an Honours degree in Sociology.  Since moving back to New Zealand I have volunteered for the NZAF and co-founded EquAsian, a social support group for Asian people in Auckland's rainbow community.
