Ben Mander

I grew up and studied in Australia graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Economics and Management. My partner and I moved to New Zealand in 2017 after living in Brazil for two years where I studied the language and managed my own small business. We settled in beautiful Wellington where I work in the risk consulting division at KPMG. I bring experience in compliance, strategic and operational risk management and process improvement.

I am currently working towards becoming a Chartered Accountant. Outside of work you’ll find me having coffee with a book or exploring some of the great walking tracks around New Zealand.

I wanted to get involved with the NZAF because I believe in its mission and am confident in my ability to bring a unique skill set and perspective to the Board. We have the chance to end HIV transmission in our lifetime. Countries around the world, and New Zealand in particular, are making great progress thanks to the efforts of foundations like the NZAF, but we aren’t there yet. Thinking about the positive impact that ending HIV could have on people’s lives is something that inspires and motivates me.
