Acting Deputy Chair of the Board
I grew up in a closely knit farming community in the west of Ireland and attended Trinity College Dublin where I completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy. After commencing a clinical career in Ireland, I immigrated to New Zealand to work at the Christchurch District Health Board following the 2011 earthquake. Before leaving to join the not-for-profit sector in 2017, I held various roles in Decision Support and Planning and Funding focusing on Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug portfolios.
I currently work as the Development and Central Services Manager of Nova Trust, a residential rehab for substance addiction set on a 30-hectare working farm in Canterbury. Since moving to New Zealand I have also held governance positions in the LGBTQI, youth and alcohol and drug sector. I am passionate about harm reduction and believe NZAF can achieve its Ending HIV targets.
I live in Selwyn with my partner Ben and our exotic shorthair cat Stella.
