Aotearoa is a melting pot of Pacific nations.
The NZAF work with Pacific Peoples to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS and create supportive environments for our Pacific men who have sex with men and other diverse sexual minority groups of the Pacific.
Some of the ways in which we achieve this is to host a biennial event “Love Life Fono”. The Fono provides a platform to educate our communities and to develop leaders to take our messages back to their people.
The NZAF sponsors the Westfield Style Pasifika Hero section, showcasing Pasifika fashion with flair and flamboyancy. This is an opportunity for us to promote our messages to all our communities.
We also work alongside Pacific providers and church leaders building supportive and informed communities that help to protect the treasures of the Pacific.
The NZAF has a commitment to the Pacific because of the level of migration between Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific, the impact of HIV on Pacific communities within Aotearoa New Zealand and in Pacific countries, and the serious responsibility that the NZAF has taken in regard to its position within the Pacific.
