Current Medications

Antiretrovirals are the medications used to suppress the HIV virus and stop the progression of HIV disease.

The below document lists the main antiretroviral medications, however not all of these are available in New Zealand.

The antiretroviral medications available in New Zealand are fully funded (under special authority) by Pharmac, the Pharmaceutical Management Agency of New Zealand.

People living with HIV should speak to their HIV specialist about which antiretroviral medication is right for them.

For general enquires regarding HIV medication please feel free to contact Eamonn Smythe, Director NZAF Health Services at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
