NZAF is New Zealand’s leading HIV prevention and health services organisation that works to prevent the transmission of HIV and provide support for people living with HIV, their whānau and families. NZAF partners with other organisations in the HIV sector to help succeed in its mission.
The NZAF Trust Board is seeking applications from people with the following skills or experience in addition to basic governance expertise:
- Strategic thinking
- Human Resources
- Branding and PR
- Governance of NGOs
- Financial governance
All applicants are expected to have knowledge and experience of the communities most affected by HIV in New Zealand, specifically the gay and bisexual men’s communities, including Takatāpui Tane, Asian MSM and HIV positive MSM, and New Zealand-based African communities. People living with HIV who are willing to have their status known publicly are encouraged to apply, although disclosure is not essential.
The NZAF Trust Board has seven Trustees, four of whom are elected by the membership of NZAF, and three who are appointed by the Board. This position is for an appointed member. The Board meets approximately eight times each year, although some work is necessary from time to time between meetings. Appointed Trustees have a two-year term with the option of being appointed for another two terms. All NZAF Trustees are unpaid volunteers.
The closing date for applications is 5pm Friday, 31 March 2017. To make an application or for more information, please contact Viginia Cattell, Board Secretary via email email@example.com or call on 021402080.
