Jason brings a range of skills and a huge amount of passion to the NZAF. A social scientist by training, he has been involved in HIV research and advocacy since 2004. His early research discussed media representations of homosexuality through HIV and AIDS reporting in New Zealand and his PhD examined the social and spatial worlds of gay men living with HIV in Auckland. He has presented his work at a number of international conferences and has published in several academic journals and edited books.
In his role as Strategic Policy Advisor for the NZAF, Jason provides strategic and policy advice to the Executive Director and the Board as well as a range of external officials and stakeholders. His work strengthens the position and ability of the NZAF to fulfil the aims and objectives outlined within the NZAF Strategic Plan.
In his spare time Jason loves spending time with his young nephew and has healthy addictions for Les Mills group fitness and travel.
