Dr Paul Bohmer has been on the Board since November 2006 and has a wealth of expertise and leadership in the area of public health medicine. He is currently acting Board Chair.
On joining the Board, Paul said, “The NZAF has been an inspirational organisation at the forefront of the fight against HIV and AIDS, through education, the promotion of human rights and the elimination of discrimination, and I wish to contribute to this effort over the next few years.”
Paul is currently the Manager Population Health for the Auckland District Health Board and before that worked for the Ministry of Health. He has particular interest in health outcomes and inequalities, immunisation, refugee health and the social and environmental determinants of health.
While on the Board, Paul has helped re-orient the Foundation to focus on outcomes and how we go about achieving those outcomes.
