A cadre of organisations is raising the alarm about an increase in gonorrhoea among Auckland’s gay and bisexual men....
I’m a counsellor here at the NZAF Burnett Centre. I trained at Wellington Institute of Technology and gained a Bachelors of Counselling. I’ve worked for the NZAF for almost three years and have been working full time for the last two. As a counsellor I work from a cognitive behavioural perspective and emotional perspective. What this means is that I see our thinking feelings and actions as being interrelated therefore movement in one area creates movement in another. As we increase our awareness in these areas we give ourselves the opportunity to make different choices, and therefore give ourselves the possibilities of different outcomes in life. As this process occurs I see it as essential to have a safe place to explore and learn more about ourselves and how we live.
