Diane trained as a general nurse and has further qualifications in education and public health. She has been working in the area of sexual health and rights for over 30 years; for much of that time with Family Planning NZ where she held clinical nursing and health promotion roles up until 1999. Since then Diane has been working in international development with a sexual health focus.
Diane has worked in Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Papua New Guinea, East Timor and the Solomon Islands. For the past five years Diane has worked as a programme co-ordinator with Family Planning International, based at Family Planning's head office in Wellington, NZ. In this role Diane developed and implemented a number of sexual health programmes with Pacific partners focusing on the sexual health needs of men and boys.
